The 2022 Interwetten PDC Europe Super League will take place from November 07 – 11, 2022 at the H+ Hotel in Niedernhausen. 24 of the best darts players in Germany will compete against each other over five days for a ticket to the 2023 Cazoo World Darts Championship.

The tournament format, which made successful debut last year, will remain in place for this year’s event. On the first two days of the tournament the players will play against each other in four groups of six, with the last two players in each group being eliminated from the tournament. The remaining 16 players will then battle it out in a second group phase with two groups of eight to advance to the quarterfinals. The last eight will determine the winner in Friday`s final session.

The full event will be available for free via the Sport1 livestream. Sport1 will also broadcast 20 hours of the Super League live on free TV, including the final session. The Interwetten PDC Europe Super League will be played on a total of four boards with one match per round being televised. From the quarterfinals onwards all matches will then take place on the streaming board.

“We are very happy that we will manage to stage the Super League in this form and to give Germany`s darts elite a fantastic platform in cooperation with our great partners Interwetten, Sport1 and HYLO,” said Werner von Moltke, President of PDC Europe.

Alongside the Top16 of last year’s Super League including Florian Hempel, Max Hopp and Nico Kurz (the 2021 Super League Champion Martin Schindler is already qualified for the World Championship via the Pro Tour Order of Merit), the PDC Europe has awarded nine wild cards. Beside well-known names like current Tour Card Holder Ricardo Pietreczko or former Tour Card Holder Steffen Siepmann six players will make their Super League debut. For Fabian Schmutzler, David Schlichting, Robin Beger, Ole Holtkamp, Marvin Koch and Jonas Aplowski 2022 will be the first year in Germany’s elite league.

“This year we deliberately focused on young players who have attracted attention with their performances on the Development and Challenge Tour. With 15 of 24 players under 30 and eight players who are even under 25 years old you can definitely speak of the “youngest Super League ever” and that’s a good sign for Darts in Germany!”, said von Moltke.
