In der ersten Partie traf Dave Chisnall auf Peter Wright, der in diesem Jahr das Preisgeld vom Finale 2017 verteidigen muss. Chisnall kam besser in die Partie und baute seine F\u00fchrung zur Halbzeit auf 8:5 aus. Doch dann kippte die Partie und \u201eSnakebite\u201c gewann acht Legs in Folge. Die 13:8 F\u00fchrung reichte dem Schotten, um kurze Zeit sp\u00e4ter mit einem 16:12 in das Halbfinale einzuziehen.<\/p>\n<p>Einen \u00e4hnlichen Verlauf nahm die zweite Partie, dort f\u00fchrte Michael Smith mit 6:3 gegen Glen Durrant bevor \u201eDuzza\u201c sieben Legs in Serie gewann.
