The runner-up will receive a prize fund of \u00a3400,000. The total prize money will double.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe increased prize funds announced today demonstrate our commitment to growing earning potential for players at all levels within the PDC system. The incredible growth of the PDC in recent years has seen darts elevated to levels never seen before both in terms of playing opportunities and global interest and this is a huge moment for all players with the ambition to make it to the very pinnacle of the sport\u201d, says the PDC CEO Matthew Porter.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The prize money for the Winamax PDC European Tour will also increase in the coming year. The total prize fund per event will grow from \u00a3175,000 to \u00a3230,000 \u2013 an increase of more than 30 percent. The winner of a European Tour event will receive \u00a335,000 in prize money, while the runner-up can look forward to a sum of \u00a315,000.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe increase in prize money shows that the sport is becoming more popular and that our work is paying off. It highlights the strength of the European Tour, which is not only a successful brand but also an essential part of the PDC season calendar. The most important competition of Moltke Sports \/ PDC Europe is the professional tournament series, the PDC European Tour.
