December Darts Galas in Magdeburg and Lingen postponed to 2022

November 26, 2021 ,

Due to the current situation around the fourth wave of the Covid19 pandemic PDC Europe has decided to postpone the Magdeburg Darts Gala and the Emsland Darts Gala to next year. The new dates are April 22, 2022 and September 23, 2022 respectively and all tickets will remain valid.

The current situation is comparable to the situation at the end of last year, if not worse. New regulations for events are being passed almost daily, making it difficult or impossible to plan and execute events of the size of the Darts Galas.

At the same time, in light of rapidly rising infection rates and high occupancy of intensive care beds in hospitals, there is also a social and moral responsibility where it would be wrong to hold a major event currently.

“We are all incredibly frustrated that we have to take this step! We have been planning events for almost two years and yet in the end we are always forced to postpone them. A situation that is very disappointing for us, but especially for our fans,” said Werner von Moltke, president of PDC Europe.

“But you simply can’t disregard at the moment that we are in a renewed negative spiral of the pandemic. It is to be feared that the situation will get worse rather than better in the next few weeks and that further requirements will be imposed on us. Covid tests, mandatory masks and keeping social distance – that’s not darts! We want exuberant events with great atmosphere, where the fans get a unique experience. Our galas in particular thrive on spectators being able to get close to the stars and that is not going to happen under the current conditions.”

Fans who converted their tickets into a voucher because they could not or did not want to attend the December dates can of course exchange their voucher for tickets to the respective event next year.
