End of the group stage at the Grand Slam of Darts

November 12, 2019 ,

After four days the group phase of the Grand Slam of Darts in the “Aldersley Leisure Village” in Wolverhampton is over. Eight groups with four players, 16 players qualified for the Last 16, which is played in a knockout system.

From a German point of view, Gabriel Clemens was the second German ever to reach the knockout phase of the Grand Slam after Michael Unterbuchner last year. The “German Giant” showed impressive performances and became unbeaten group winner. Clemens will meet BDO World Champion Glen Durrant on Wednesday.

Martin Schindler dropped out without victory, but showed good performances in the difficult group with Nathan Aspinall, Michael Smith and Durrant.

All favourites, especially Michael van Gerwen and defending champion Gerwyn Price, are in the next round, which will take place on Wednesday and Thursday.
