German Darts Championship to be staged in September in Hildesheim

August 5, 2020 ,

Further changes have been made to the 2020 PDC European Tour schedule, with the events in Budapest (September 4 – 6), Jena (September 11 – 13), Gibraltar (September 25 – 27) and Prague (October 16 – 18) now no longer able to take place as planned, but with a new event scheduled in Hildesheim.

Fans who purchased tickets will remain valid for next year’s staging of the events, with the dates for 2021 to be announced in autumn alongside the rest of the European Tour schedule. Ticket buyers for the German Darts Open in Jena will be provided with all information by PDC Europe via e-mail, while for Budapest and Prague the local organisers will be contacting their customers.

A one-year contract extension has also been agreed between PDC and the Gibraltar Ministry of Sports with European Tour events being staged in the country in 2021 and 2022.

In cooperation with the public health department of the administrative district of Hildesheim and with great support of the Halle39, a safety and hygiene concept has been developed to allow the staging of the German Darts Championship from September 25 – 27, 2020 in the Halle39 in Hildesheim. The event will go forward with a maximum capacity of 500 people per session under the current pandemic protection measures in Lower Saxony. Tickets for the event are now available HERE

This makes the German Darts Championship European Tour event 2 after the Belgian Darts Championship in Hasselt at the beginning of the year. Two more European Tour events in Germany are being planned and will possibly be announced at a later stage.
