It was one of the moments of the 2025 World Darts Championship: Kai Gotthardt’s barrel broke on his World Championship debut, during his match against Scotland’s Alan Soutar – in front of millions of fans. Back then, “The Tunnel” lived up to his name and was not fazed by the unique incident. He was convincing on stage and won 3 – 1 in sets against Soutar.
Today, his barrel has once again attracted attention. As part of a charity campaign, “The Tunnel” raffled off his broken dart, among other things.
This raised a total of 5238 euros, which will now go to the “Olgäle Foundation”. The Stuttgart-based charity supports sick children and their families.
For Gotthardt from Esslingen, who is himself the father of a daughter, this is the perfect donation:
“I can only say thank you again for the fact that so many raffle tickets were bought and donated. This is a real matter close to my heart. The children will be so happy. The money is definitely going to the right place.”
Kai Gotthardt has been a tour cardholder since this year and can now also demonstrate his big heart and focus on the professional circuit.
