The PDC has announced rule changes for the upcoming European Tour season.

The Top16 of the Main Order of Merit will newly be seeded into Saturday’s second round action while the Pro Tour Order of Merit’s Top16 will compete in the first round of European Tour events. In addition, from this season, Tour Card holders if they wish will be permitted to enter one Host Nation Qualifier respective to their nationality instead of playing the Tour Card Holder qualifier.

This means that each nation’s high-profile players have the opportunity to qualify without taking the supposedly more difficult route via the Tour Card Holder qualifier. Furthermore, in European Tour events the first round draw will have two pots, one of the pre-qualified ProTour players and the other of the Tour Card, Host and Regional qualifiers.

Turkey, Cyprus and Greece have been added to the countries that may take part in East Europe qualifier for European Tour events.
