Darts has been making hearts beat faster in Munich for years, and this past weekend, the city once again proved why it is far more than just a tournament location. In the run-up to the ELTEN Safety Shoes German Darts Grand Prix, PDC Europe paid a visit to one of the city’s most traditional institutions for the ninth year in a row: Trachten Angermaier, Munich’s legendary traditional costume house that has been dressing the city in style since 1948.
Darts Meets Bavarian Tradition
Players and officials gathered at Angermaier to immerse themselves in authentic Bavarian culture and to get fitted for the German Darts Grand Prix. European Championship and World Championship finalist Gian van Veen was among the stars in attendance, accompanied by the caller trio Kirk Bevins, Charlie Corstorphine, and Franz Engerer, as well as the Master of Ceremonies Philip Brzezinski. Between lederhosen and dirndls, it became clear: darts and tradition are a perfect match.
A Unique Munich Welcome
With its stores in Munich, Angermaier offers an experience that goes far beyond the ordinary. The visit served as a fitting reminder that darts in Germany is more than just a sport. It is a celebration, an experience, and a way of life.
