The PDC European Tour 2026 is entering its decisive phase – and with it, the battle for one of the most coveted tickets on the darts calendar: qualification for the European Championship in Dortmund. The top 32 players on the European Tour Order of Merit will secure a place at the season finale from October 22 to 25.
After eleven of the 15 tournaments, there is a new leader: Ross Smith has moved to the top following his victory at the Hungarian Darts Trophy. “Smudger” defeated Gary Anderson 8-2 in the final at Budapest’s MVM Dome to claim his second European Tour title of the season after also winning the International Darts Open in Riesa.
With £125,000 in prize money, Smith now sits £19,000 ahead of former leader Wessel Nijman, who is on £106,000. Krzysztof Ratajski remains third with £79,500, while Nathan Aspinall has climbed to £74,000 following his semi-final run in Budapest. Josh Rock completes the top five with £66,000.
The battle around the qualification cut-off is particularly tight. Joe Cullen currently occupies the crucial 32nd position with £29,500. Just behind him is Stephen Bunting on £28,000. Big names such as Michael Smith, Daryl Gurney and Gary Anderson are also currently outside the qualification places and will need to add further prize money during the remaining four tournaments.
